GETTING TO GLASTONBURY

The nearest airport is Bristol Air Port.

The nearest train stations are Bristol Temple Meads & Castle Cary.

The 376 bus service goes between Bristol and Glastonbury every half hour. The journey takes about an hour and a half. Bus stops are on the road just outside the train station. To travel TO Glastonbury, use the bus stop that's on the same side of the road as the station.

There are taxis but no buses between Glastonbury and Castle Cary.

Berrys Coaches is an excellent daily service between Glastonbury and London, also stopping at some places along the way.

MY PERSONALLY RECOMMENDED PLACES:

THINGS TO DO

The famous places to see when you're here are:

A short walk from town. Parking near the Tor is non-existent or dangerous (robbers!) So from April to September, the TOR BUS goes between town and the Tor every half hour. The bus stop is in the Abbey parking lot, Magdalene Street.

In the middle of Glastonbury town, it has picnic areas and a great outdoor cafe that's open between spring and autumn.

A historical place of quiet contemplation, a short walk from town, or a 5 minute ride on the Tor Bus.

Just around the corner from the Tor, parking is difficult here too.

Over 500 years old, and with the ghosts to prove it! A popular restaurant and pub, with the ambiance of older times.
